Assessment Methodology

In keeping with the guidelines of CBSE, Litera Valley Zee School, Hosur follows the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) methodology, which is a system of school-based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of their development. Since education is concerned with the total all-round development of the child (physical, socio-emotional, intellectual, etc), all aspects of the child’s development need to be assessed.

The term ‘continuous’ is meant to emphasise that evaluation of identified aspects of students ‘growth and development’ is a continuous process rather than an event, built into the total teaching-learning process and spread over the entire span of the academic session. It means regularity of assessment, frequency of unit testing, diagnosis of learning gaps, use of corrective measures, and feedback to teachers and students for their self evaluation.

The term ‘comprehensive’ means that it covers both the scholastic and non-scholastic aspects of the students’ growth and development. Abilities, aptitudes and attitudes can manifest themselves in forms other than the written word; therefore a variety of tools and techniques are applied aimed at assessing a learner’s development in areas such as

  • Knowledge
  • Understanding / Comprehension
  • Applying
  • Analyzing
  • Evaluating
